The JN Tata endowment loan scholarship 2026-27 offer economic assistance to individuals pursuing postgraduate, doctoral or postdoctoral studies at maximum prestigious universities inside the international. Students from India who pursue postgraduate, doctoral or postdoctoral studies in several academic disciplines in foreign universities are given financial assistance for their education.

Under this JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship, approximately 100 students are selected each year. The selection process is completely based on academic excellence, potential and passion to help in the development process of the country. The application process for this educational loan starts from the beginning of the year January month and the last date is 15th March 2026.

The program of JN Tata Endowment Fall 2026 Spring 2027 will start accepting application forms Between 5th January and 15th March 2026. Those that have been shortlisted after an initial screening will be called to an aptitude test. Mock Test, probably on Thursday, 30th April, 2026 and Final Test on Sunday, 3rd May, 2026. Candidates who succeed in the aptitude test will undergo interviews with subject specialists who will be selected through the best Indian and international institutes between May to June 2026. All the Awards will be announced jointly by email Mid of July 2026.

JN Tata Endowment Scholarship 2026 aims to assist economically disadvantaged individuals who wish to pursue higher education abroad.

Loan Amount: Depending on the academic advantage and monetary want for education, the scholarship quantity can reach up to ₹20 lakh.

Interest: Students receive academic load from the organization at a pre-determined interest rate; generally, this rate is 2% per annum, which is beneficial for students.

Repayment Terms: After completion of the course, the student repays the load through payment in pre-determined period.

JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship Eligibility

Applicants must be Indian citizen andhis/her age should not be more than 45 years as on June 30, 2026.

Candidate must be graduates from a government recognized university and feature a median of at the least 60% in their undergraduate or graduate degree. Applicants who do no longer have a bachelor’s diploma from a recognized Indian college are ineligible to use. Candidates must be accepted as graduate program participants (Masters in Indian terminology) for admission to the course. 

If candidates were not selected for the JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship one year ago or earlier, or if they were not able to utilize the loan scholarship at the time of their selection, they can apply again. As long as there is at least one full academic year (12 months) remaining to complete at the time of loan scholarship award, which is usually in July of any calendar year, candidates who are already undertaking postgraduate study abroad may apply at the end of their first year of study or at the beginning of their second year. 

If candidates are currently on leave for CPT or OPT training they must have two full semesters or three quarters remaining to complete their program. JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship Applications are accepted from candidates who are in the final year of the degree program and who are waiting for the result. Candidates can apply even if they do not have admission or offer letters from the universities they are applying for the academic year 2026-27 at the time of filling the application form.

However, after receiving admission, students must update the status of their JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship application with the Endowment by sending an appropriate email to jnteapplication@tatatrusts.org mentioning the reference number visible on the upper left side of the form.

Applications are open for JN Tata Scholars who have paid their course fees. Applications are not accepted from candidates who are traveling abroad for student exchange programs, seminars, conferences, training, workshops, paper presentations, graduate studies, or any postgraduate degree, diploma, or certificate obtained through online or distance learning.

Candidates may not apply if they intend to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies in India. Candidates whose entry level requirement is Higher Secondary level and who wish to study for a Diploma lasting at least one year are not eligible to apply.

Documents for JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship

The entire selection process consists of four stages. Please note that the management’s choice at each stage of the selection process will be final, and no questions regarding the same will be entertained. No candidate’s application will be processed further and the Endowment will not entertain any queries related to incomplete or incorrect information.

Phase 1:

• Application form has to be submitted tillMarch 15, 2026.
• The candidate’s 500 x 500 pixel JPG photo
• Masked Aadhaar card Passport (first & last page)
• Each academic qualification’s marksheet or transcript
• Purpose Statement (SoP)
• Certificate of work experience from the prior employer
• An appointment letter from the current employer
• 3 months’ worth of pay stubs and the maximum recent ITR (applicable for operating experts)

Phase 2: Test of Aptitude

• No paperwork is needed.

Phase 3: Subject Expert Interview

• Letter of acceptance to the University
• A letter of Recommendation (LOR) explicitly sent to “The Trustees of the J N Tata Endowment” either from a Professor of the College or University or the company, in case the candidate is/was working

• GRE/ toefl/gmat/ ielts and pte scorecards
• Scholarship, prize certificates and ranking

Phase 4 – Final Selection

• The PAN card of the candidate
• The candidate’s most recent bank statement or cancelled check
• PAN card of the guarantor and masked Aadhar card
• Passport-sized photo of the guarantor (500 × 500 pixels in JPG format)
• Proof of income for the guarantor and the most recent ITR filed
