KV Admission 2026-27: Every year thousands of children apply to get admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya. KVS – Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Government of India releases KV Admission 2026-27 Notification PDF for new admission every year. Admission forms for this year i.e. 2026-27 will also be available soon. First, applications will be started for class 1st and then later forms will be filled for classes 2 to 9. Admissions for class 11th will be done after the results of class 10th are out. Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2026-27 notification PDF is expected to be issued in March 2026. KVS Admission Form 2026 filling process will probably start at the beginning of March 2026. The last year, the admission to KV was between March 7 and 21, 2025. That is why, it can be predicted that the KV admission of the academic year 2026-27 will also start approximately the same time. Classes 1 admissions are done on an online platform by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, but the rest of the Classes 2 to 12th (except Class 11) admissions are done on the offline platform.
Class 1st is admitted through an online lottery and priority category based system, whereas Classes 2nd to 8th is through a priority category based system and an offline lottery system, and no tests or examinations are taken.

Eligibility Criteria for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2026-27
First of all, only those children will get Admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya whose parents are in government jobs, especially in Army, Air Force, Navy and other government departments. Apart from this, people doing private jobs can also get their children admitted, but seats are limited for them. A minimum and maximum age has been fixed for each class. In the table given below, you have been given the age limit for all classes.

Documents for KVS Admission 2026-27
If you want to take admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya, then you must have some important documents.
- Child’s birth certificate
- School transfer certificate (When admission is above class 2)
- The government job certificate (if applicable) of parents.
- SC/ST/OBC/EWS certificate (if applicable)
- Disability certificate (if applicable)
- Residence certificate
- The certificate of services of parents (if applicable)
KV Admission Process 2026-27
The admission process in Kendriya Vidyalaya is different for each class.
Admission in Class 1
There is no exam for admission in Class 1. In this, the selection of children is done through lottery system. Meaning, a lottery of names is drawn through computer and those whose name comes, get admission.
Admission from Class 2 to Class 8
If there is a vacant seat in any class, then admission is given there. There is no exam in this, rather children are selected through priority and lottery system.
Admission in Class 9
There is a written exam for admission in Class 9. In this, questions of English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science are asked. Students who pass the exam get admission.
Admission in Class 11
Admission in Class 11 is given on the basis of 10th result. If a student has passed 10th from Kendriya Vidyalaya, then he gets direct admission. But if he has come from any other school, then he is given admission on the basis of vacant seats.
KV Admission Fees 2026-27
The fee of KV is slightly higher than government schools, but much less than other private schools. The fee details are given in the table below.

Online Application of Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2026-27?
The Class 1st students (parent/guardian) are allowed to complete an online KV Admission 2026-27 admission form on the official site, kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in. The KVS online admission portal can be used to submit the KVS admission form online. Application submission process is separated into two stages:
- Enrolment in Kendriya Vidyalaya on – kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in.
- Filling the KV Admission 2026-27 admission form.
How to Register for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2026 for Class 1?
The general registration steps involved in the KVS Class 1st admission procedure have been given below. These steps can be used by students to accomplish their initial registration.
- Go to the online admission facility of KVS: kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in.
- Click on new registration button.
- Read the instructions attentively and activate the checkbox of declaration and get down to the proceed button.
- The registration window of KV Admission 2026-27 will appear before the screen. Fill the details of a child, parents name, date of birth, e-mail, mobile number etc in respective boxes.
- Type captcha code given and press on the ‘Register’ button.
- A one time password will be dispatched to the mobile number typed in. Fill the same and send to verify the contact details.
- The screen will display details of the logins. Write them down and store them up to be referred to later.
Admission Form Filling and Submission of KVS Online Admission 2026-27
The students will be asked to fill the KV form online. The following are some basic instructions on how to complete the KVS admission form 2026-27.
- Once registration has been completed in the KVS at kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in, on the top tab, there is the Log in, and by typing in the login details created during the registration, and the captcha code as it appears.
- Click on the ‘Login’ button.
- The KV Admission 2026-27 online application form will now be opened. Add the personal information as required.
- Clicking on the next button and click on kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in 2026 form.
- Choose the KVs among the presented list of schools. You are free to select a maximum of 3 schools out of the list.
- The remaining details of KV Admission 2026-27 application form are to be filled now.
- Send the necessary documents, including the photograph, birth certificate of the student, etc.
- Add the admission form and press on the preview tab.
- Before the final submission of the KVS admission form 2026-27, verify all the details and ensure that all details are mentioned properly.
- When the application form is submitted successfully, a unique code of application submission will be allocated, however, it is not equal to the login code.
Note: The application will not be sent out until the application submission code will be generated at the online admission portal. Remember to retain the application code, which will be required in admission.
