Sara Ali Khan made her big Cannes debut on Tuesday by walking the red carpet wearing a lehenga and proudly showing off her “desi” roots. She attended the premiere of the opening film, the Louis XV period drama Jeanne du Barry, starring Johnny Depp, at the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

For the landmark event in her career, Sara opted for a handwoven ivory lehenga designed by celebrity fashion designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
